Ms. Doris Jane Smith, 66, resident of Selma, passed away August 6, 2014 in Selma. Services are scheduled for Sunday, August 10, 2014, 12:00 noon at White Lily Baptist Church, 5434 Crook Road, Minter, AL. Burial will follow in church cemetery directed by Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Mose Smith and Mrs. Ludie M. Dunklin Smith; nephew, Maurice A. Brown.

Survivors include son, Bruce D. Smith; daughters, Patricia Smith Varner (John C. Varner, III) and Miss Ludebra Smith; brothers, Herbert Smith (Linda C. Smith) and Albert L. Hester; sisters, Hattie P. Smith (Charles Carter), Mittie Smith Brown (William Brown); lifelong friend , companion, and father of her children, William Calhoun; eight grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.
