Sturdivant Hall is making the final preparations for Saturday’s artisan’s fair.
There will be 18 different artists showing off and selling their handmade items Saturday, Nov. 22.
“We are so excited and looking forward to it,” said Mary Hansell, director of Sturdivant Hall. “It’s going to be fun.”
This is the fourth year that Sturdivant has held the event, and they are hoping for another great turn out.
According to this weekend’s forecast, the high temperature is set to be around 64 degrees. Hansell said she is excited about the good weather and hopes people take advantage of it by coming out to the fair.
During the fair, the community has a chance to come together and support local artists and Sturdivant Hall.
“It’s always a fun day seeing friends, getting ready for the holidays and buying wares for the home, homemade items from friends and artisans that we know,” Hansell said. “We have a good time.”
The purpose of the fair is to give local artists a chance to show off and sell their work while also helping raise funds for the upkeep of the historic home.
Guests will have an opportunity to buy hand knitted scarves, carved and painted snakes, ceramics, pottery, American Doll accessories, metal artwork, Cotton Blossom Embroidery, bread and button necklaces, wire wrapped jewelry, paintings and photography, musical bird houses, button crosses, hand made wooden bowls, cheese straws, home made rolls, cornbread dressing, jams and jellies and more.
The artisan’s fair will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information abut the event, call Sturdivant at 872-5626.
