Blake Deshazo has joined The Selma Times-Journal as a staff writer.

He is a native of Dothan and graduate of Northview High School. He attended Wallace Community College in Dothan for two years before transferring to Auburn University to study mass communication.

He graduated from Auburn in December 2012 with a degree in radio, television and film. He has worked as a photojournalist and assistant producer for WDHN News in Dothan for two years.

“I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life, and there is no better place to do that than Selma with The Times-Journal,” Deshazo said. “I can’t wait to learn about the rich history Selma has to offer and see all of the opportunities that lie ahead of me in the Queen City.”

Deshazo will cover news and sports for the Times-Journal and selmatimesjournal.com.
