With Christmas rapidly approaching, the Selma Post Office is extending its holiday hours to help with the shipping and mailing needs of its customers.
The United States Postal Service announced through a December press release extended hours for post offices across the state of Alabama, which included the office in Selma. The Selma Post Office will extend its retail hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. the next two Saturdays on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. The Selma office will provide full retail services, including stamp sales and package acceptance on those days.
“The Postal Service ships more packages to more places than anyone else,” said U.S. Post Office District Manager Mary Sullivan in a press release. “During the holidays, we’re raising the bar with enhanced tracking and Sunday delivery providing excellent service and reliability that only Santa can compete with.”
During the 2013 holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service delivered 434 million packages and 6.4 billion pieces of first-class mail across the country.
