Keith boys win coin toss, set to host tournament
The Keith boys won a coin flip with Sunshine Wednesday morning and will host the class 1A, area 5 basketball tournament.
The Bears and Tigers split their meetings this year and had identical 5-1 area records, meaning the coin flip was needed to break the tie.
Keith winning the coin flip means the Bears boys and girls will both host area tournaments in Orrville next week.
Dallas County 73, Sumter Central 54 (boys)
Dallas County clinched class 5A, area 6 Tuesday in a 73-54 victory over Sumter Central, a team that had defeated the Hornets earlier this season.
Jerrod Moorer scored 29 points and added six rebounds and Raheem Phillips had 15 points and seven assists in the win for Dallas County (18-5).
Ellwood Christian 72, Akron 65 (Boys)
Behind 23 points from C.J. Grimes Tuesday, Ellwood Christian knocked off Akron 72-65.
Jalen Furlow also added 21 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles in the win.
