Susan Theresa Long

Susan Theresa Long, age 83, of Selma, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ruble Long; parents, Germaine Desmarteau and Michael Lacondrata; brother, Richard Lacondrata; and sister, Joan Lacondrata Scott.
Mrs. Long is survived by her daughters, Wanda Long Grove (Vince), Linda Long Smith, Lisa Long Bennett, Theresa Long Powell and Denise Long Rushton (Michael); sons, Dennis W. Long Sr. (Kathy) and Michael Paul Long; brothers, Michael and John Lacondrata; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, (Brenton Britcher).
Mrs. Long was over Meals on Wheels at the First Presbyterian Church for many years. Mrs. Long cared for many people and her life goal was that no one ever went hungry. She was loved by many and forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank all the friends and health care providers (Gentiva, Southern Care Hospice) for all the wonderful care and assistance they provided for our mother. Visitation will be at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Our Lady Queen of Peace, father Richard Myhalyk will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Dalton, Steven Barnes, Tyler Jackson, Colby Britcher, Hunter Long and Dale Allday. Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Middlebrooks.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to The Edmundite Missions, Center of Hope.
