I would like to thank the following Law Enforcement Agencies that sent Volunteer Officers, Deputies and Equipment to assist the Selma Police Department with the security for the 50th anniversary of the Selma bridge crossing (Bloody Sunday).
Without the assistance of these departments and other state, local and federal law enforcement agencies we would not have been able to provide a safe and secure 50th anniversary event celebration. Several of these agencies sent additional personnel that were part of a State Regional Law Enforcement Taskforce.
- Autauga County Sheriff Department
- Bessemer Police Department
- Birmingham Police Department
- Demopolis Police Department
- Dothan Police Department
- Hale County Sheriff Department
- Huntsville Police Department
- Hoover Police Department
- Lowndes County Sheriff Department
- Millbrook Police Department
- Mobile Police Department
- Montgomery County Sheriff Department
- North Courtland Police Department
- Prattville Police Department
- Tuscaloosa Police Department
- Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Department
- Union Springs Police Department
Departments involved in the activated state regional law enforcement taskforce used for the 50th Anniversary Bridge Crossing Jubilee event were:
- Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA)
- Baldwin County Sheriff Department
- Coffee County Sheriff Department
- Cullman County Sheriff Department
- Dale County Sheriff Department
- Dothan Police Department
- Escambia County Sheriff Department
- Etowah County Sheriff Department
- Huntsville Police Department
- Houston County Sheriff Department
- Limestone County Sheriff Department
- Madison County Sheriff Department
- Mobile Police Department
- Morgan County Sheriff Department
- Poarch Creek Police Department
I would like to thank the following businesses that donated services, food, water and supplies to help feed hundreds of law enforcement officers and personnel during the 2015 Jubilee, marking the 50th anniversary of the Selma bridge crossing.
Because of their support we were able to provide meals to our officers, staff and hundreds of other law enforcement officers. Their actions went beyond the call of duty to help ensure a safe and secure 2015 Jubilee event.
