William Elton Reece

William Elton Reece passed away March 30, 2015, at the age of 67. He was born September 29, 1947, to the late William Henry “Dub” and Kathleen Shirley Reece.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents; sisters, Diane Reece Wilson and Linda Reece Barger; and his brother, Billy Gene Day.
He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Joy McCracken Reece; son, Todd (Kellie) Reece; daughter, Lane Reece; granddaughter, Ellie Grace Reece; brothers, David Day, J.C. Day and Larry Reece; sister, Kathy Reece McAteer; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
“Coach Reece,” as he was affectionately dubbed, invested in the lives of countless children and young adults throughout his 20 year career at Selma High School and an additional 23 years with the Selma Parks and Recreation Department.
The family will receive friends at Elkdale Baptist Church Thursday, April 2, 2015, from 11:30-2:30 p.m.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Cory Horton and Dr. Jerry Henry officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Honorary pallbearers will include the past and present Little Foote Hunting Club members and Elkdale Baptist Church Deacons.
