Saturday is set to be a busy day in the Queen City. Events such as the Selma Charity League Yard Sale, the eighth annual Butterflies and Bridges Run, the Michael Johnson Football Camp and more is sure to get the community out of the house and participating in multiple fun events.
We encourage everyone to get out and find a community event to attend. It’s important that we support these local charities and organizations and show them how much they mean to Selma.
The Selma Charity League Yard Sale, benefiting Grow Selma, is set to take place at the Phillies Cigar Plant from 6:30-10:30 a.m. It’s a good chance for people to get out and find a good deal while also supporting Grow Selma.
After the sale, people can head over to the Selma-Dallas County Library where a historic downtown Selma walking tour will begin at 10 a.m.
Starting at 8 a.m., runners will have the opportunity to compete in the eighth annual Butterflies and Bridges 8K and one-mile fun run beginning beside Selma High School. The run benefits the Selma City Schools athletic program.
For all of the aspiring football players and cheerleaders in the community, the Michael Johnson Football and Cheer Camp will be the perfect place to learn some new skills.
The camp begins at 9 a.m. at Memorial Stadium and is $20 for each participant.
With all of these event, and many more, Saturday is the perfect day to see what all this city has to offer, and we hope that the community will step up and support these good causes while also having a great time.
