The popular Vaughan Regional Medical Center auxiliary’s jewelry sale will return Thursday and Friday.
The sale will be held Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Vaughan’s tower classroom building.
Items at the event include jewelry, scarves, Alabama and Auburn team jewelry, men’s watches, rings and much more. And as always, each item is only $5.
The auxiliary hosts the sale twice a year to raise money for the organization and its scholarship fund.
Jewelry sale chairwoman Peggy Dunklin said the sale items come from a masquerade company in Nashville. She said she and other auxiliary members are expecting a large crowd.
“Costume jewelry is what’s going right now,” Dunklin said. “They (people) just dress up in costume jewelry. So, that’s what they’re looking for.”
The sale would also help the auxiliary accomplish its goal of providing services for the hospital and the community, Dunklin said.
“Money (raised) is used for scholarships and to help benefit the hospital,” she said. “Right now, we’re about to do scholarships.”
Over the years, the auxiliary has helped remodeled the chapel at the hospital, bought chairs and various items for the nursery and spruced up the cafeteria. They are working on redoing PT Plus.
Customers can purchase items using cash and credit or debit cards. Employees of the hospital will be able to use payroll deductions.
