Dallas County and Meadowview Christian will continue their pursuit of high school softball championships Friday.

The Hornets will take part in the eight-team 5A South Central Regional at Troy as part of the Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs. Dallas County will take on Shelby County at 1 p.m. as part of four first round games that start at that time.

Win or lose, the Hornets will play either Helena or Brewbaker Tech in their second contest Friday. The tournament is double elimination and will end Saturday with the top two teams moving on to the AHSAA state tournament.

Meadowview will take part in the Alabama Christian Athletic Association state tournament in Millbrook at New Life Christian School. The Trojans will face Tabernacle Christian in the first game at 10 a.m. If Meadowview wins they won’t play again until 4 p.m, Friday. With a loss the Trojans will play an elimination game at 2 p.m. The winner of the four-team tournament will be crowned state champions Saturday.
