Graduation season in full swing

With Concordia College Alabama welcoming graduates into the alumni family Saturday, and Selma University on Friday, the season for commencements in the Queen City has officially begun.

Before the month is out, Wallace Community College Selma and seven area high schools will have their graduation ceremonies and welcome new alumni. With a diploma in hand and experience behind them, these graduates will now have the opportunity to be leaders in our community.

After the ceremony several Concordia alumni, some from Dallas County and others from outside of the county and sate, said they are hoping to find jobs right here in Selma. They spoke highly of the community and after graduating, the want to stay and build their lives as citizens of the Queen City.

We are happy to hear that young people are excited about Selma and want to be a part of building it up. It’s that kind of enthusiasm that we like to see, and we welcome them with open arms. A lot of hard work goes into graduating from high school and especially college, and we are glad to see these students take that step into a better future.

Graduation is an exciting time for all involved and each graduate has something to be proud of.

We wish all of the graduates the best of luck in their next chapter. Congratulations Class of 2015!
