One injured in drive-by shooting

Selma police officers responded Thursday to a drive-by shooting in the 1500 block of Lauderdale Street.
Officers arrived on the scene around 10:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man lying on the front porch of a residence. The man had been shot in the abdomen and in the buttocks.
According to witnesses inside the home at the time of the shooting, they heard one to two gunshots and a car speeding away.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The victim was taken the Vaughan Regional Medical Center by Care Ambulance and then airlifted to Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
The shooting is being investigated by the Selma Police Department’s Major Crime Unit detectives.
