The Selma Police Department is trying to piece together information about a Sunday night shooting that injured a 45-year-old Selma man.
According to incident reports from Sunday, the shooting was called in at 8:57 p.m. at Ramsey Place, which according to Lt. Curtis Muhannad with the SPD is a trailer park on Alabama Highway 22 West.
Muhannad said the man was shot twice, but he is expected to recover from the wounds.
“He is in stable condition, but he is being monitored because of the wounds. He’s currently being treated in a Montgomery County hospital,” Muhannad said.
No arrest has been made in the case, and officers are still trying to piece together what happened Sunday night.
“There are no suspects in the shooting at this point. We’re still doing an investigation to determine what led up to the shooting,” Muhannad said, adding investigators are still unsure of what kind of gun was used.
According to Muhannad, no witnesses were around to see what happened, and investigators have not been able to get a statement from the 45-year-old victim at this point.
“He was being treated and airlifted to Montgomery, so he was unable to at that point give a good statement,” Muhannad said. “Officers are still investigating and trying to get an opportunity to speak with him when he gets stabilized.”
Muhannad said one of the details investigators know is that three black males were spotted leaving the scene, but they have not been identified.
“We know we have three suspects that were running or fleeing from the scene, but we can’t identify them,” Muhannad said. “We just know there were three black male suspects that left the scene. We don’t know if they were involved with the shooting.”
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 874-2588 or 1-866-442-7463 or the Selma Police Department directly at 874-6611.
