Anderson Jack Lawrence Hewitt

Anderson “Andy” Jack Lawrence Hewitt went to be with Jesus Christ on Monday, Sept. 28, while at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 44. He was the Vice President of Domestic Operations for Plantation Patterns. Andy loved God, his family and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Andy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Felecia Derreberry Hewitt; two precious daughters, Shayna and Regan Hewitt; grandson, Walker Guin; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hewitt of Tupelo, Mississippi; his sister, Juanita Sheffield (Mark); brothers, Ken Hewitt and Josh Hewitt (Aimee); mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Geraldine Good; along with several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolphus Jack Hewitt Sr. of Hickory, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Westall of Nebo, N.C; as well as his nieces Jessica and Lauren Sheffield.

Andy graduated from Mississippi State University in 1993. He was known as a hardworking, loving and giving man as well an inspiration to all who knew him.

During his battle with cancer, he touched and changed many lives as people witnessed his daily walk with God.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.

A celebration of Andy’s life and home-going will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with brother Bob Frazer and brother Tom Hewitt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to service time. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, at Elkdale Baptist Church in Selma.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Derreberry, Brandon Hewitt, Josh Hewitt, Ken Hewitt, Tommy Hewitt, Nick Horne, Mark Sheffield and Chuck Utsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Walker Guin, Andy Hewitt, Clay Hewitt and Kayden Hewitt.
