Meadowview rolls past Brooklane

Meadowview Christian Academy (5-1) came out strong Friday night as they defeated Brooklane Baptist Academy (0-5) 60-19 for homecoming.
It was a big night again for the Trojans’ JeVar McGuire, who had 151 total yards and four touchdowns, all of which came in the first quarter.
“It was just a great homecoming win,” said head coach Lebo Jones. “Everybody got to play a lot, young kids got to play a lot. It was just great overall night.”
Chase Shipman was the first to put points on the board with a 15-yard run for a touchdown to bring the score to 8-0.
After a Brooklane fumble, McGuire took the ball in for a touchdown from the two yard line to being the Trojans up 16-0.
Brooklane answered with an 85 yard touchdown run from Trevor Lambert to make the score 16-7.
Still in the first quarter, McGuire took off for a 50-yard touchdown to bring the score to 22-7.
Brooklane did their best to get back in the game off of a Masseiah Horton 65-yard touchdown run. After a failed attempt at an extra point, the score was 22-13.
McGuire answered with a 46-yard touchdown run to bring the score to 28-13. Brooklane didn’t have the ball for long on the next drive after an interception by Chris Wilson who ran the ball back for a 46-yard touchdown. The score was then 36-13. On Meadowview’s final drive of the first quarter, McGuire caught a 20 yard pass from Jeremy Lee for a touchdown bring the score to 44-13.
Lee came out in the second quarter with a 12-yard run to make the score 52-13.
With 3:20 left in the second quarter, Meadowview got their final score of the night off of a Tyler Sebrem 27-yard touchdown run, making the score at halftime 60-13.
Meadowview heads into a bye week next week and then plays Conecuh Springs Christian School on Oct. 16 at home.
