Several organizations will come together Wednesday to sponsor a career fair/expo for eighth graders through high school seniors.
Wallace Community College Selma, Region 6 Workforce Development and Selma Dallas EDA will put on the event in honor of Manufacturing Month.
The expo will take place Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon. More than 2,000 students will participate in learning more about career paths and different professions.
Representatives from more than 40 companies will be on-hand to talk with students about what they do, educational requirements and salary ranges.
“My hope is that they will be challenged and aspire to discover career paths they might not have known about otherwise,” said Wayne Vardaman Sr., executive director of the Selma and Dallas County Economic Development Authority Centre for Commerce.
