Survey is a chance to voice opinion

It’s easy to complain about something — that’s just human nature. It’s harder to actually take action to enact change.
A new online survey will give local residents to chance to have a say in making improvements around the community.
There is a catch; however, you have to take the time to actually complete the survey.
We encourage everyone to spend a few minutes and take the Performance Accountability Survey.
The data will be used to determine what residents feel is right in the community and what could be done better.
“We want to give every citizen a direct voice in city government,” Evans said. “The survey will give citizens a chance to grade us on our current performance and to provide city leaders a clear directive on what we need to focus on to make Selma better. I encourage every citizen to complete the survey.”
The survey can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/selmaalabama.
For those who might not have a home computer or Internet access, the survey can be done at the Selma-Dallas County Library. There are several dozen public computers there that can be used. Library staff will be glad to help people with any questions they have.
Finally, paper copies are also available at Selma City Hall and the library. Completed surveys should be taken to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.
Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win a $50 gift card. One gift card will be awarded in each of the city’s wards.
The results of the survey will be published on the city of Selma’s website and will be given to local media.
We will certainly follow up with stories about what people have to say.
