Celebration of life for Gwendolyn Yvonne Bates of Selma will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church; the Rev. Steven Washington, pastor; the Rev. Dr. Wilton Heyliger officiating.

Burial to follow in Hope Church cemetery.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Remains will lay in state one hour before the services.

Gwendolyn is survived by her loving grandmother, Ms. Willetta Bates, Selma; her loving sister, Janice Hudson, Lithonia, Georgia, one brother, Carl Waugh, Mobile; She also leaves to cherish her memory six aunts, Harrie Lou Pettaway, Sophia Crawford and Laurena Waugh, all of Selma; Elize Coleman and Winda Cottingham, Cleveland; Velma Robinson, Pensacola, Florida; two uncles, Harry Bates and Eli Waugh, Selma; and host of other relatives and friends.
