Martin James Matsko

Martin James Matsko died Dec. 15, 2015, peacefully in Selma at the age of 81.
Martin is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Barlow Matsko; children, Ailsa Matsko-Deason (Michael) of Selma and Katherin Matsko Sousa of Prattville.; grandson, James-Martin Matsko and special friend and brother-in-law, Charles K. Sanderson.
He was born on June 24, 1934 in Streator, Illinois, to John and Mary (Dankovich) Matsko. He married Brenda Barlow in 1967 while in the Air Force. Once retired from the Air Force, Martin and Brenda moved to Selma, where he began working and later retired from All-Lock.
Funeral mass will be Monday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Lino Oropeza officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Martin’s life.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
