City hall, courthouse holiday schedules

The offices of Selma City Hall, City Council and the Dallas County Courthouse and Annex will operate on limited days this week due to Christmas.

Offices of the Selma City Hall will be closed this week on Wednesday through Friday. They will reopen on Monday through Thursday, but will close again next Friday for New Year’s. The hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Dallas County Courthouse and Annex will be closed on Dec 23 until Dec 28. For the New Year’s, the courthouse will close again from Dec. 30 through Jan. 3. The offices of tax assessor, tax collector and the recording office will be open on the Dec. 30 and 31, but will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Visitors will be able to find the tax assessor and tax collector offices on the first floor and the recording office in the basement. The back and front entrances to the courthouse will be accessible.

The Selma-Dallas County Public Library will be closed Thursday through Saturday. Next week, it will be closed Thursday and Friday for New Year’s. The library will reopen Saturday, Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.

Tommy Smith, director of public works, said that there will be no trash pick-up on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
