Master Sgt. Julia Diane Acoff Williams, of Grovetown, Georgia, entered into rest Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at age 52.

Mrs. Williams was born June 1, 1963, in Selma. She graduated from John Adams High School in Cleveland in 1981. Mrs. Williams joined the United States Army in 1986 and served her country for 22 years until she retired in 2009.

Family members include her mother, Emma (Nathaniel) Freeman of Selma; her siblings, Ernest (Dara) Freeman of Cleveland, Ohio, Cynthia Freeman of Augusta, Georgia, Pamela (John) Sloan of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Angela (Bruce) Fincher of Selma, Elnora Jones of Detroit and Chris Harwell of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; children, DiMario (Janice) Acoff Sr, Arthur Acoff, Brandon Williams, and Quinton Williams, all of Augusta; grandchildren, DiMariel Acoff, Tarajae Acoff, DiAngelo Acoff, DiMario Acoff, Jr. and Avery Acoff all of Augusta. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Lee Freeman; sister, Norma Jean; and brother, Chris Calloway.

A funeral service will take place Saturday, January 9, 2016, 11 a.m. at Sandridge Baptist Church in Selma. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Pineview Memorial Gardens, Valley Grande. Randall J. Miller Funeral Service directing, Rev. Roosevelt Marzette officiating.
