Many topics to discuss after State of Union

So far, 2016 has gotten off to a dismal start. It was the worst opening week for the stock market ever.
The jobs report was better than expected, but only tells the story of those finding some sort of employment whether part time or otherwise.
Also, the unemployment rate of 5 percent does not include the discouraged workers and those who have given up looking for work. There are 94,691,000 Americans of working age who are no longer in the labor force. However, I am sure if you tune into the State of the Union address Tuesday night you will get a much rosier picture from the President. I’ll be satisfied with reading the reviews by various sources on Wednesday morning. My problem with State of the Union addresses is they are Democrat or Republican lovefests depending on which one occupies the oval office.
Since this will be coming out probably after the President’s address and written before it, I’ll boldly make a few predictions. The President will make his case for climate change to the cheers of the Democrats, and the deadpanned faces of the Republicans. He will also try to claim certain victory with the absolute dreadful deal with Iran. All the while, Iran is still thumbing its noses at us and waiting on their 150 billion dollar sanction relief from the administration. Iran just fired off missiles in the Straits of Hormuz almost within ear shot of some of our ships, not to mention the previous violation of UN sanctions of testing nuclear capable medium range ballistic missiles just since the deal was agreed upon.
Also, on the agenda will be the topic of the day, gun control and his unilateral actions on back ground checks. Although it doesn’t solve the problem, it is a feel good, doing something moment for the President. Oh, and I almost forgot his push for importing more refugees from Syria to cause trouble, amnesty for illegals from Mexico and closing Gitmo.
All the while the President is speaking, the Democrats will be ecstatic with cheers and standing ovations while the Republicans will sit as if in sackcloth grieving catering to their constituents back home.
Of course, the Supreme Court Justices will be on hand for the festivities. Chief Justice Roberts will sport a wide grin on his face much like a donkey eating saw grass while the others are more subdued chatting among themselves. Justice Ginsberg will probably take a little nap waking up from time to time from the loud noises. A few of the other senior members will just be wondering what day it is, when will snacks be served and what time is recess.
Then on Wednesday, everything returns to normal in Washington. President Obama continues with his pen and phone and the Republicans acting indignant, but doing nothing, and so on and so forth.
