Dear editor,

This letter is overdue. It is to express my regrets that the Winn-Dixie on Highland Avenue is closing.

Over the years and still, this store has been nearer my beaten paths in life than the one on West Dallas.

I enjoyed shopping there, although I do admit that since their neighbor grocery store in that strip opened, we have shopped there a lot. The employees at the Winn-Dixie will be missed.

They were courteous and helpful always.

I liked the specials of BOGO the store offered weekly and the variety of merchandise offered. It hurts me that so many long time employees must now look for other work.

I have prayed for them to find something comparable, even better for them. So, these few sentences are to say thank you, Winn Dixie on Highland employees and to wish you the best as you go your separate ways. May God bless you as you go.
