A Selma man, 49, was injured Wednesday evening during a shooting at the Budget Inn hotel.
Investigators say the man was drinking with a friend around 7 p.m. at the hotel when approached by three people. Police believe the shooting is the result of a drug deal gone bad.
The victim was shot in the arm and side, according to Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department. He was airlifted from Vaughan Regional Medical Center to a hospital in Tuscaloosa.
The victim’s current condition is unknown.
The man’s 48-year-old friend complained of chest pain and was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for examination.
No suspects have been identified, and the shooting remains under investigation.
