NWS Meteorologist Gerald Satterwhite shared some insight on what Alabama residents may see from the weather this weekend.

“We’ll have a storm system moving into the region but we will not have severe weather at this time. There will be some passing showers, maybe a few thunderstorms through the weekend,” Satterwhite said.

He said the threat of rain would last until early days next week, but will not be heavy.

“We have a chance for showers late Thursday night. Off and on showers and continued thunderstorms will continue Friday.

It won’t rain for every hour, but it is definitely a chance Thursday night until early Monday night,” Satterwhite said.

He said weather wont come with strong winds or be harsh or threatening.

“All of the severe weather happened in the past two days in Texas and a little in Louisiana,” Satterwhite said.

“But the storm system will be weakening a little bit by the time it gets to us.”
