A 61-year-old Selma man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Tuesday morning during his daily walk.
The Selma Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls just after 5 a.m. about a man hit near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Hampton Road.
The man died on the scene, according to authorities. His name was not released pending notification of his family.
“What we’ve been told, he did it every morning. He got out and walked up and down the roadway,” said Police Chief John Brock.
Authorities believe the death was an accident, but the incident remains under investigation by the homicide traffic unit. Brock said no charges have been filed at this time.
