For the fifth straight year, Vaughan Regional Medical Center’s Relay For Life team will put on a golf tournament.
The tournament will take place Wednesday at Valley Grande Golf Course.
Physician Relations and Industry Director Maegan Austin said 10 teams have registered, but people can still sign up until the day of the tournament.
Players have the option of playing in the three-man scramble tournament, which cost $80 per down or $240 per team, or can sponsor a hole for $200.
Registration starts Wednesday morning at 9. Play will begin at 11 a.m.
“This event helps patients get to and from therapy if they are going through cancer treatments like radiation and chemo. It helps with hotel rooms, transportation and medicine for cancer patients in Dallas County and surrounding areas,” Austin said of Relay For Life.
Austin said the team rallies behind Relay For Life and enjoys supporting the American Cancer Society fundraiser.
“It’s important for us to do our part because Selma is our hometown, and we want to help patients here,” Austin said. “We are very thankful for local businesses who are participating and helping our efforts,” Austin said.
In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for later this month. A rain date hasn’t been finalized.
