The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Wednesday who is wanted in connection to a shooting in Louisville, Kentucky last month.
Bobby Walker Jr., 20, was arrested Wednesday after police found him hiding under a pile of clothes in a home in Minter. Captain Mike Granthum said police responded to a domestic violence call around 2:30 p.m. from the Pink Bottom Community in Minter.
Police arrived near County Road 426 for the domestic violence call and spoke to a female, who gave them some information.
They ran Walker’s name through the National Crime Information Center database and found out he had a murder warrant.
“They spotted him laying on a porch behind a house,” Granthum said. “As soon as he saw the police car, he took off running and he ran through a house.”
Granthum said Walker stopped about a quarter of a mile down the road and hid behind a house. Once he was spotted, he ran into the house and hid in the bathroom of a back bedroom under a pile of clothes.
“After a brief struggle, they took him into custody,” Granthum said.
According to the Associated Press, court documents show that Walker and Kevin Bower were indicted in connection with a March 15 shooting in Louisville that left 19-year-old La’Mont’e Harris dead and another man injured.
The shooting took place near Churchill Downs in Kentucky. Harris was a father of three, including a two-week old daughter at the time of the shooting, according to WLKY, a television station in Louisville, Kentucky.
Walker is being held at the Dallas County Jail without a bond and is waiting on extradition.
