Nearly all local government offices will be closed Monday for Memorial Day.

The Dallas County Courthouse will be closed on Monday as well as the Selma City Hall and the Selma and Dallas County Centre of Commerce.

The Dallas County Health Department and Selma-Dallas County Public Library will be closed as well.

The weather is expected to be warm and dry, a nice preview of summer.

Birmingham National Weather Service meteorologist Connor Barid said there is no sign of severe weather for the Memorial Day weekend.

Barid said there is a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday but that most of the weekend will be clear and dry.

“Nothing much is expected right now,” Barid said.

The high Saturday will be around 86. Lows are expected to be in the low 50s. Sunday and Monday will be a little warmer with a high right about 90 and lows in the 60s.

The local Memorial Day program will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Stadium.
