Four men robbed a 24-year-old Selma man after leaving a nightclub early Saturday morning.
The Selma Police Department responded to a call in reference to a robbery on Dallas Avenue at 1:44 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim stated he was sitting on his porch after a night at the clubs when four men approached him, according to authorities.
“He recognized the males from the club,” said Police Chief John Brock.
One of the men grabbed the victim’s shirt and hit him on the head with a handgun and demanded he surrender his items, authorities said.
The suspects left the scene in a black Ford Expedition after taking $160 in cash from the victim.
Brock advises people to be aware of their surroundings.
“You need to pay attention to what’s around you and if anybody’s following you,” Brock said.
He said if anyone suspects they are being followed or under any threat, to call 911. If under suspicion of being followed, stay in the vehicle and keep driving, Brock said, and to find a well-lit and populated area until it is safe.
Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the secret witness line at (334) 874-2190.
