The months-long search for Selma High School’s new boys basketball coach may soon be over.
Selma High School athletic director Melissa White said a recommendation has been made to the school board, but she said she couldn’t give any more information at this time. White did not sit in on the interviews for the position, since she was not the athletic director when the search was ongoing.
Girls basketball coach Anthony Harris has been coaching the team in an interim role. White did not rule out Harris when asked if he might be named the boys coach as well.
“A recommendation has been made but it hasn’t made it to the board agenda yet,” White said.
“I won’t speak on who we have in mind but a recommendation has been made.”
The new coach will replace Woodie Jackson, who resigned during the spring.
