The Selma Art Guild is preparing for a busy September and October.
The guild will have its September Opening Reception on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 2-4 p.m. The show will feature both 2D and 3D mediums of art.
The theme of the 2D show is “What’s your game?” Artists will be allowed to present their representation of the theme however they see fit in this exhibition show. The 3D show will be titled “The Third Demension.”
“The 3D aspect is to present the art form in whatever way the artist interprets 3D,” wrote Jo Pate, secretary for the Selma Art Guild. “This will be an opportunity for the public to learn that 3D art is more than just sculpture and clay.”
On Saturday, Sept. 17 the guild will host an acrylic workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. taught by Kellie Newsome that will focus on “Vibrant Animals.” The cost for the workshop is $110 and Newsome will provide lunch and all of the needed supplies, except for a canvas.
