If there’s one thing Morgan Academy has shown in five games this year, it’s that the Senators know how to bounce back from a loss.

Morgan put any memories of last week’s loss to Monroe Academy to rest with a 33-7 victory over Hooper Academy on Friday night.

The Senators ran for 233 yards and four touchdowns, while holding Hooper to just seven yards on 22 carries.

Sam Brackin ran 11 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Morgan offense. Brayton Brown had 39 yards and a touchdown and Chase Utsey ran the ball six times for 46 yards and a score.

“We were able to establish the run game pretty early and I am proud of our guys for that,” said Morgan Academy coach Josh Thacker. “The defense had a great night. No blown assignments.”

Morgan also scored defensively on a safety in the fourth quarter. Caleb Pitts led the Morgan defense with five and a half tackles.

The Senators will play at Glenwood Academy Friday.
