Morgan’s playoff hopes take hit with loss

Morgan Academy’s playoff hopes took a hit in a 28-6 loss to Northside Methodist on Friday night.
The Senators (5-4, 1-3) managed only 133 yards of total offense compared to 269 yards for Northside. The Knights (5-4, 3-1) ran for 226 yards and led 20-0 after three quarters.
Brayton Brown led Morgan in rushing with six carries for 28 yards and Sam Brackin had nine carries for 19 yards.
Sam Plummer caught one of Gunnar Henderson’s two completions for 45 yards. Brown caught the other one for 15 yards.
Caleb Pitts had eight tackles to lead Morgan and Sam Plummer was credited with 7.5 tackles.
With the loss, Morgan will play a must win game next week against Pike Liberal Arts. The winner of that game will clinch a playoff spot in AISA class AAA, region 2.
