Keith (5-4) already knew it was going to the class 2A playoffs going into Friday night’s game against Thorsby, but the Bears were still playing for seeding in region 4.

Jared Edwards threw three touchdown passes, including two to Marquez Hatcher, as the Bears dominated 34-12 to finish third in class 2A, region 4.

“This makes eight out of the last nine years, so people expect Keith to be in the playoffs. We’ve made a tradition of going ever since 08,” said Keith coach Harry Crum.

Edwards connected with Hatcher on a 60-yard pass and a 50-yard pass. His third touchdown pass went to Ky’Wione Thomas to put Keith up 22-6 at the half.

Jeashan Black and Ty’Quarius Murray returned interceptions for touchdowns in the second half to preserve the win.

Keith hosts Central Hayneville next week.
