Wallace baseball splits with Chattahoochee Valley
Wallace Community College Selma split two games with Chattahoochee Valley on Saturday. The Patriots won the opening game 3-0 but lost the second game 7-4.
Wallace pitcher Micah Henderson threw a complete game and threw five strikeouts in the opening game. Quintarrious Arrington and Ryan Harbin each had a RBI and Chandler Mullins scored two runs. Sloan Tyler scored the third run for the Patriots.
In game two, Isaac Phillips had two RBIs to lead Chattahoochee to the three-run victory. Ryan Harbin’s two RBIs led the way for Wallace in the defeat. Quintarrious Arrington allowed four earned runs in four innings. Michael Reid pitched the final two innings for Wallace.
Winchester plays for Troy in NCAA Women’s Tournament
Troy freshman Harriet Winchester had three rebounds in 15 seed Troy’s first round NCAA Tournament loss to No. 2 seed Mississippi State 110-69.
Winchester finished the game with nine minutes played and had three rebounds.
She finished the season averaging 3.1 points per game and 1.4 rebounds. Winchester graduated from Keith High School in 2016.
Dallas County 8, Central Tuscaloosa 6 (Baseball)
Dallas County defeated Central Tuscaloosa 8-6 in baseball Monday, moving to 12-2 on the season.
