Dear Editor,

The school bells are rapidly approaching for another productive school year.

The 2017-2018 academic year will be a stellar one for our educators and students.

As Selma City Council President, I look forward to visiting and taking part in the upcoming events planned for the academic year.

Let me also encourage the community to become engaged with our school system by attending PTO meetings, athletic events or open house to show your support.

When the community embraces the mission of the school’s productivity increases in our educational system.

Education is the vehicle that transforms behavior and the culture of a community.

Unequivocally, our learning institutions are preparing our students for a remarkable future.

I pledge my full support in meeting the school systems’ needs.

A heart felt thank you goes out to our administrators, teachers, faculty, and staff for being the change agent in our students.

A thriving educational system is pivotal to a city’s success.

Once again, thank you, educators, for serving and have a great academic year.

We will succeed together through our ABC’s, achieve, believe and conquer.
