Bojangles coming to Selma, set to open in October

A new fast food restaurant is scheduled to open in Selma this fall.
Allyson Campbell, marketing director for Bojland Restaurant Group, LLC, confirmed Friday a Bojangles restaurant will open its doors in Selma in mid-October.
“We’re just right in the middle of construction,” Campbell said. “By the time that land is turned over to us, it’s 108 days before the store is ready to open, so we’re exactly in the middle.”
The store will be owned by Bojland Restaurant Group, LLC, a franchisee that operates 10 stores in Georgia and South Carolina and will have four stores in Alabama once the Selma location is complete and a new Montgomery store opens in September.
“We came into Montgomery last October, and it was always our plan to go ahead and develop the region,” Campbell said. “We’re opening our third store in Montgomery in September, and we like the area so much in Selma, we decided to come to Selma for our fourth store.”
Campbell said Bojangles’ success in Montgomery made it an easy choice to build a store in Selma. The Selma restaurant will be located in front of Walmart on Highland Avenue next to Main Street Urgent Care. It will be in the same location as the old Moore-Stewart Honda dealership.
“We couldn’t be more excited. We’ve gotten a wonderful response from people in Montgomery, and it’s just a perfect fit for our franchise,“ she said.
Campbell said the restaurant is currently hiring employees and expects to hire between 30 to 40 full-time and part-time employees. Campbell posted a link on the “Bojangles’ – Selma, Al” Facebook page Thursday about hiring.
“I did a post about hiring [Thursday] about 3 p.m., and by 9 p.m. it had already been shared 196 times,” Campbell said.
“I went from zero applicants to 137. I haven’t seen that kind of response before, so we’re super excited.”
As of Friday afternoon, the post had 23 comments and 203 shares. Anyone interested in applying can go online to www.bojland.com and scroll down to the “Join Our Bo Team” button.
Campbell said customers in Selma can look forward to “fast and friendly service” once the store opens.
