Two children that were reported missing with their mother Monday have been found safe, but Investigators with the Selma Police Department are still trying to locate their mother.
Mary Timmons Scott and her two daughters, Alee and Bri, were reported missing by a friend Monday evening.
Lt. Tory Neely with the Selma Police Department said Tuesday morning the two children have been found safe with family in Birmingham, but they are still looking for Scott.
“We just have the information that the person that reported her missing gave us,” Neely said. “They just don’t feel comfortable that she is OK, and that’s why we are so aggressively trying to locate her.”
Neely said the department is currently piecing together any information to help them locate her.
“We are backtracking and talking to the last people that saw her, and we are trying to get cell phone information,” Neely said.
Neely said the department is also trying to make contact with Scott’s ex-husband, Greg, but so far they have not been able to make contact with him.
“We’re trying to get up with him now. We’ve been contacting their employers and the schools and all of that,” he said.
Photos of Scott and her daughters have been posted and shared on Facebook hundreds of times.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Selma Police Department at (334) 874-6611 or the Criminal Investigations Division at (334) 874-2125.
