EDITORIAL: 11-year-old’s effort should motivate others to step up and do something

Caleb Smith is only 11 years old, but he is not letting that stop him from making a difference here in Selma. Smith was recently awarded a $500 grant from Youth Services America and Disney to fund a recycling project the sixth grader came up with.
It’s called Selma Recycles and involves teaching people about recycling and then showing the how to recycle.
Smith should be proud of the effort he is making to make a difference in Selma, and he should serve as a motivator for others. If an 11-year-old can get out and make a difference, why can’t others?
Good luck, Caleb, in this endeavor. We hope you make a difference and make an impact across our community.
