Selma man killed in head-on crash in Orrville Saturday

A 54-year-old Selma man was killed in a head-on two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon and an Orrville man was injured.
According to Senior Trooper Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Michael Molette Jr. was killed in the crash.
King said 37-year-old Derrick Westbrook Muse, of Orrville, was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not released by ALEA.
According to King, Molette was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The accident happened Saturday around 3:45 p.m. on Alabama Highway 22 near the nine-mile marker, which is in Orrville town limits.
King said the crash occurred when a 1995 Ford Ranger driven by Molette collided head-on with a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Muse.
No other details from the crash have been released at this time.
The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
This is the fifth fatal crash in Dallas County in the last two weeks.
Curtis Reed, 55, and Orlanda Tyrone Carter, 45, both of Selma, were killed Jan. 28 in a head-on collision on Alabama Highway 14 near the 121-mile marker.
Leroy Stover, 43, and Rashada “Rhonda” Colvin, 40, both of Selma, were killed Jan. 29 in a single-vehicle accident on Mulberry Road.
Ernest Hatcher, 68, was killed the afternoon of Feb. 1 in a single-vehicle crash on River Road.
A 31-year-old Montgomery man, Christopher Obrian Coleman, was killed Feb. 3 on U.S. Highway 80 just outside of Selma.
