The exhibition is only open to current or former residents of Alabama and will give local artists a chance to showcase their original work. The deadline for entry is April 1 and the maximum entries per artist is nine pieces.

There is a $35 non-refundable entry fee per artist for their first three submissions and an additional $5 per piece for extra submissions. The exhibition will be April 27-May 31.

Becky Youngblood, executive director of ArtsRevive, said the organization is excited to usher in the 16th annual exhibition.

“It’s grown every year in both popularity and number of artists that has participated in it,” she said. “It’s gotten a really good reputation in the region for being a great art show with great prize money.”

The prizes are $1,000 for best in show, $300 for people’s choice, $200 for first place in each category, $100 for second place in each category and $50 for third place in each category.

Scott Stephens, professor of art and chair of the art department at the University of Montevallo, will be the judge during the exhibition.

The categories are 3-D/sculpture, photography/computer generated, drawing/pastel/watercolor and oil/acrylic.

“This is a direct way we support the local artists,” Youngblood said.

Youngblood said ArtsRevive has a greater purpose in mind.

“One of the main goals of ArtsRevive is to stimulate the economy through the arts,” she said.
