Elderly woman robbed in Old Town

A 75-year-old Selma woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday night in Old Town.
According to an incident report from the Selma Police Department, the robbery happened around 8 p.m. on the 600 block of Mabry Street.
The victim told officers she was preparing to leave her home to go to a friend’s house when she was robbed.
The report states the victim was about to put something in the trunk of her car when she was approached by a subject from behind. She said the robber put a gun to her head and told her to give him her purse.
She then complied with the robber’s request and gave him her purse.
She told the responding officers he took her purse and ran off. She described the robber as a “young black male,” and stated there was another male with him.
The victim went next door to call the police, and a K-9 officer responded but could not track down the suspects. No arrest has been made as of Monday.
According to the incident report, more than $100 in cash was taken, along with more than $1,000 in jewelry, including an 18-karat gold wedding band, a Coach purse, i-Phone 5, a watch, two pairs of diamond earrings, pearl earrings and necklace and cocktail rings.
Her bank card, driver’s license, social security card, make-up and several medications were also taken.
