The Dallas Wilcox Bama Club is preparing for its annual scholarship presentation banquet for deserving seniors who plan to attend the University of Alabama this fall.
This year, the Bama Club is awarding 14, one-year $2,500 scholarships during its scholarship banquet Monday May 7 at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center.
Pre-registration for the event is required in order to ensure a seat. Bama club member admission is $35 per person, and it costs $45 per person for non-members. The club has invited back Dr. Chuck Karr, dean of the University of Alabama College of Engineering, to be the guest speaker.
This year’s recipients, should they enroll at the University of Alabama for the 2018 academic year, are Nia E. Brooks (Dallas County), Cipriana N. Carter (Selma High), Shaniya M. England (Dallas County), Cecilia N. Hollinger (Wilcox Academy), Princess S. Holmes (Dallas County), Ashley K. May (Wilcox Academy), Margaret A. Palmer (Morgan Academy), Sam Plummer (Morgan Academy), Sara C. Plummer (Morgan Academy), Ansh M. Shah (Morgan Academy), Kendarious D. “They met certain criteria laid out by the University of Alabama Alumni Association,” Leet said. “We want to generate interest and promote these students because they are worthy of being promoted.”
The banquet will have door prizes, and Tide Treasures will be on-site selling a variety of UA paraphernalia.
