Selma City Councilwoman Angela Benjamin will be hosting the 10th Annual Youth Conference from July 25-28 downtown,
The Youth Conference is a free event designed so youth and young adults between the ages of 12 and 21 can walk from one workshop to another and gain knowledge and skills essential to becoming strong and productive leaders.
“Many believe that by having great confidence and awareness, youths can create a positive future for themselves and a significant difference within the community,” said Benjamin.
The Youth Conference will also provide workshops and training for the parents of the participants and for the professionals who work with young people in various capacities.
The General Conference will be located at three locations, the Convention Center, Performing Art Center and City Hall on July 25 and 26. The Post Conference will be held July 27 at the 4-H center in Columbiana, and the Community Fun Day will be on July 28 at Phoenix Park across from the St. James Hotel.
