This and That Discount Discount store is now open for business. The bargain store held its grand opening Saturday morning and store owner, Salisha Parker said the store’s goal is to save the locals money.
“We sell a little bit of This and a whole lot of That. From kitchen sinks, toilets, tubs, vanities, patio, decor, furniture, lighting, to clothing, and we even make t-shirts,” she said. “We aim to save our community money in every way we can. We sell quality merchandise at amazing discounted prices.”
Not only did the store open it also held a school supply giveaway to for local students.
“We knew there was a great need for some parents to assist in getting school supplies for their children with school starting next week for some students,” she said. “This is our first attempt, we may not have been able to give away as much as we liked, but hopefully next year will be spectacular.”
Parker said the supplies varied for the students.
“We gave away school supplies for all ages, from K-12,” she said. “The supplies included This and That logo drawstring back packs with items ranging from pencils, pens, crayons, folders, dividers, copy paper, calculators, binders, rulers, markers, tablets, etc.”
Parker said the school supply drive is about much more than helping right now. It is about helping the leaders of tomorrow.
“Giving back has never been a question for us. If we can, we will, especially when it comes to something as important as school supplies for the kids,” she said. “We wanted to at least give them a start. Having the needed school supplies put our students one step closer to higher education to become productive members of society.”
