The Morgan Academy Senators (0-1) head out on the road again this week for the teams’ week two matchup against the Edgewood Academy Wildcats (1-0).

After a tough 20-14 overtime loss to No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts in week one, the Senators have reset their priorities to preparing for the Wildcats.

The Senators are only 4-9 against Edgewood Academy all-time, but Morgan won the last game against the Wildcats 46-0 in 2016.

The Wildcats have stumbled since the teams undefeated, AISA championship season in 2015. In the past two seasons, Edgewood is a combined 1-20. In 2017, the team averaged 14.6 points per game, and allowed 39.1 points per game to opponents.

However, Edgewood began its 2018 campaign with a 13-12 win over Northside Methodist Academy.

The good news for Morgan Academy is that they defeated Northside Methodist 48-0 last season.

The Senators have also been trending upward since 2015 and increasing their win totals.

The Senators took a ranked team to overtime in the opening week of the season, and should be prepared to take on the Wildcats on the road.
