Selma City School Superintendent Dr. Avis Williams will host a parent community forum for R.B. Hudson Middle School parents on Tuesday, Sept. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. at Selma High School Auditorium.
“It is for the parents, business partners and any other concerned citizens that want to attend,” Williams said. “We do have a new principal and we are implementing STEAM curriculum this year. We are in the beginning stages of that.
“We have had a few challenges at the start of this year,” she said. “We had to do some scheduling changes, and what I want to do is to hear from parents if they have any specific concerns, and also reassure them of the direction that we are heading in, and the pieces that we have in place that will ensure that students are safe and they are learning. It is really an opportunity for us to share with the community, and to receive feedback.
“We will have an information sheet we will ask them to complete for us and prioritize what they view as concerns,” said Williams. “We have safety, instruction, learning environment and school culture that we have identified, and we ask they share other concerns they may have. It is still early in the school year now, and we want to be proactive.”
