Sturdivant Hall is getting ready for their annual Barbecue on the Green fundraiser. On Sept. 27 from 6-9 p.m. guests will dine on the lawn of the historical museum.

Patti Currey, board member, said the event is the museum’s largest fundraiser. However, the non- profit has other events throughout the year.

“We have the Artisan’s Fair in November where artist show and sell their creative crafts. In March, Sturdivant Hall is one of the many homes displayed for Pilgrimage,” she said. “It is always loved by the many visitors that come for a visit.”

Currey said the support for the event has been overwhelming.

“The outpouring support for this event on the green is overwhelming,” she said. “We have corporate sponsors that support us along with hundreds of individuals.”

Tickets are $25 each, and can be purchased from Sturdivant Hall board members or at the museum. Tickets are also available at Carter Drug, Pilcher McBride Drug, Swift Drug Store, and the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce.

Proceeds will benefit the building and grounds of the museum. Tickets cost include barbecue dishes, dessert, beer, wine and soft drinks.
